Physical therapy (PT) is a healthcare field focused on helping individuals recover from injuries, surgeries, or other conditions that affect their physical movement and functionality. It involves evaluating, diagnosing, and treating a range of physical issues through various techniques and exercises. At Capacity, we strive to not only help you overcome pain, but perform at your best in all aspects of life. This is why we use a variety of treatments such as: manual therapy, movement re-education, strength and conditioning, and mindfulness to create an individualized program for each person.

Initial evaluations will last 60-75 minutes depending on the complexity of your injury and individual needs. Follow-up sessions last 60 minutes, with flexibility to shorten sessions by request. Soft tissue/mobility sessions are scheduled for 45 minutes.

We request you wear clothing that is comfortable and easy to move in to make the assessment process a smooth one. This may include athletic shorts/sweats, leggings, yoga pants, t-shirts, tanks tops, etc. It is always helpful to wear clothing that is easy to maneuver around the body region that will be evaluated. For example, if you are having knee pain, wearing shorts will allow your therapist to assess the area more directly. Additionally, shoes that are supportive and closed-toed are preferred.

Missouri is a direct access state, meaning an individual is free to see a licensed physical therapist without a referral for 30 days or 10 visits (whichever comes first). We will then communicate with your primary care provider to obtain approval and consultation regarding continued PT services. If you would like to obtain a referral for PT, this can often be quickly accomplished by contacting your primary care provider, specialist, urgent care doctor, nurse practitioner, chiropractor, or dentist regarding your needs.

Capacity Physical Therapy and Wellness is a "cash-based" practice, or out-of-network provider. This means payment is collected at the time of treatment for an individual session or a pre-determined package of sessions without the use of third-party insurance companies. Depending on your out-of-network benefits, you may be eligible to receive reimbursement directly from your insurance company.
